Have you ever asked someone how they are doing or progressing on a project, task or business and heard them reply "I'm getting ready!" ?
Then when you ask them again after a month or two and they again say "I'm getting ready!"
Then when you ask them again after a month or two and they again say "I'm getting ready!"
(No, that repetition was not a mistake.)
Many people have heard of the term "analysis paralysis" – meaning that someone is stuck in an analysis phase and can't get to the point of making a decision or moving forward.
Just like analysis paralysis, some people can get caught in the "getting ready to get ready" phase. They just can't seem to stop "preparing" to get going and actually GET GOING!
There are a lot of things we can do that will help us . But unless we actually willing to do, take an action, we are still in the "getting ready to get ready" mode.
Sometimes the best preparation is actually doing it now. Sure you might make a mistake or two but you will be actively learning from your mistakes and improving them rather than wondering, supposing and endlessly planning.
And the successes you have, even while you are still figuring out what you are doing will count toward your benefit. Nobody expects you to be perfect and most appreciate seeing the "human" side of people.
Plus, showing people that THEY don't have to be perfect, just as you are not perfect, helps them feel more confident that they can do it too. After all if a bumbler like you can do it – ANYONE CAN!
